NEW!: Take the video tour
VIEWS
The home’s prime hilltop location offers views in every direction. From the kitchen table, you can see the high-rise buildings of the Gold Zone in the distance, and the Pacific Ocean twinkles through keyhole views just across the street. The master suite and large guest room have great views of Stone Island and the coastline south, and the large deck off the guest wing boasts a truly spectacular view of Mazatlán’s harbor as well as the coastline south as far as the eye can see, where the coastline dissolves into mist.
KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, AND LAUNDRY
The modern, breezy kitchen is spacious with great views and a comfortable table for informal dining and gathering. We love to cook and have outfitted the kitchen with first-class supplies in abundance. Along with the normal toaster / blender / microwave offerings, we have good pots and pans, plenty of utensils, good knives and cutting boards, trays, a variety of glass and barware, an espresso maker and a French press, and lots of high-quality kitchen linens, tablecloths, etcetera. You name it, and if it’s a kitchen item we probably have it.
The kitchen table seats four and the formal dining room table seats six. Both the kitchen and dining room have ceiling fans and breezes.
For your health and peace of mind, the kitchen has both a UV water-filter system and bottled water on the premises.
There is a separate laundry room off the kitchen with a washer and dryer, and a large pantry off the other end of the kitchen leads to yet another small deck, the clothesline area, and the lower level party room. There are complete high-quality linens and pillows provided in abundance, everything from beach towels to cloth napkins to vibrant Mexican tablecloths. Iron and ironing board included.
BEDROOMS AND BATHS
This three-bedroom, four-bath home offers a great deal of privacy. The master bedroom is located in its own wing and has a king-sized bed, beautiful cedar walk-in closet, full bath, and small balcony off the front of the house. The second, also spacious bedroom is located in another wing. This bedroom has two queen beds and is adjacent to a full bath entered off the hall. A third, small bedroom with one queen bed is also in this wing, on the other side of the guest bathroom. All three bedrooms have extensive built-in closets and drawers and all are furnished with high-quality beds, pillows, linens, and towels, as well as thoughtful touches such as plenty of clothes hangars and reading lamps you can actually read by.
Both large bedrooms have individual AC units and the small bedroom has a large ceiling fan. There is a powder room off the living room and an additional full bath off the downstairs party room. We have two hair dryers for your use.
The big deck off the guest wing is a great space to watch the cruise ships come in and out of port. (Bring your binoculars.)
ALSO OF NOTE
Office area: The central hall is wide and breezy and has a desk and chairs as well as the wired connections for the Vonage phone and Internet services. Vonage phone service is available at no charge and it allows unlimited free calls to USA and Canada. Incoming callers may dial a US number instead of a Mexico number, at no extra charge to guests or to the person calling them. Both the Vonage and Telmex (local phone service) phones are cordless so that you can use both phone services from your chaise lounge on the deck. High-speed wireless Internet service is available throughout the house.
TV: The TV is in the living room and is connected to Megacable (Mexican cable TV), which offers about a hundred channels including a number of subtitled channels, CNN in English, and a number of movies in English. There is a small DVD library on site; DVDs are also available for rent in town.
Children: The house is not suitable for children under six. The surfaces are tiled and not really kid-friendly, and the furnishings are chosen with adults and not children in mind.
Minimum Age Limit for Renters: Our minimum age limit for renters is 25 years old, although adults with children older than six are welcome.
Pets: We are pet-friendly. Please let us know what your pet is like and we'll go from there. There is no real yard or a dog door but there is an outdoor garden area where you could take your dogs.
Smoking Not Allowed: Smoking is allowed on decks but discouraged, and smoking is not allowed inside the house.
Taxes: Unlike many properties, this is a legal rental! The cost of your rental includes taxes, which the owners pay to both the US and Mexican governments.
